The Burghley House

Emerson, Joseph, Canyon and myself went to the Burghley House last Monday afternoon. We didn't have time to go inside the house but we did walk around the grounds. It was a gorgeous day and not many people were there, which provided the perfect opportunity for us to take lots of photos and enjoy taking everything in.

There is a deer park on the grounds of the Burghley House and the deer are definetly not afraid of people. Emerson really liked the deer (he insisted that they were horses). He was even brave enough to feed them. I like how the deer smiled for his picture with Joseph.
While their we spent most of our time in the Garden of Suprises. Emerson absolutely loved all the various fountains and other bits of water that he could go running and splashing through. I was smart enough to bring a change of clothes, which came in handy because he was soaked after it was all said and done. Joseph rolled up his pant legs so he could get a little wet as well.

Showing off the new haircut.
Joseph looking a little on the flat side (they had a mirror maze)
We also spent some time in the Sculpture Garden. This part was full of random bits of art that seemed very out of place in a well manacured garden. But at the same time it was a fun idea, and felt like an outdoor art gallery.
