Stanwick Lakes

A couple weeks ago I took the boys to Stanwick Lakes while Stephen was to work. The weather as been very warm and sunny lately and so we went with some friends to enjoy the sunshine. Stanwick has lots of fun outdoors activities as well as walks and trails to go on. When we got there we looked around for our friends but we couldn't find them (there were lots of people there the day we went...school break!) so we picked a fun playground with sand and played around. Emerson had lots of fun digging and scooping and playing in the sand. Canyon was not a fan at first but eventually warmed up to the idea. He thought it was fun when Emerson and I buried Canyon's feet in the sand and then he would try and get them out.

After a lot of playing we ate some lunch and then went around for another walk to try and find our friends. This time we had success! The kids played some more in the sand and then we went for a little walk to an obstacle course. Emerson had a lot of fun crawling through the tunnels and climbing over things. I even helped him swing across on a rope swing.

Before heading back home for the day we had some ice cream for a treat. Canyon was very insistent on trying my Popsicle. You could tell that the taste was pretty intense because he kept making the funniest faces, but he always opened wide for some more. We had a fun little day out and hope to go back another day when it isn't so busy.

A Break

I have been taking a lot of posed/proffessional photos lately and think that everyone needed a little break. But with an idea for some fun pictures in my mind Stephen is the only one who got off the hook. Instead of smiling for the camera I used him as my 'prop' for these photos.

Going Green

I found these pictures of our family that I took back in march. I had ment to post them a while ago but must have forgot, so even though it is a little overdue and very belated, Happy St. Patricks Day from our little to yours!

Denny Abbey

A couple weeks ago we had to go up to Lakenheath for a doctors appointment and decided to make a day of it and go see some sites and also take advantage of the gorgeous weather we have been having. So on our way to Lakenheath we stopped off at Denny Abbey. The abbey was once a rest home for elderly masons, and then became a house for some nuns, after that it was converted into a farmhouse/abbey. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed walking around the abbey and reading about its history and evolution. While Stephen and Canyon were walking around, Emerson and I tried putting together a stained glass window, ufortunately some of the pieces were missing. After looking around and taking a couple pictures we finished our journey to Lakenheath.

Watching the Horses

These are a couple pictures of Emerson watching the horses from across the river while we were at the roman villa. He loves seeing animals when we drive along and points them out to us. When we parked at the parking lot to the villa the first thing he wanted to do was go see the horses. (Takes after his mommy!)
