Lunch With Grandpa Chatterton

On the Thursday that we were in Utah we went out to lunch with grandpa Chatterton. We went to this fun little restaurant called the "One Man Band." We had a nice time chatting and eating some tasty food. Grandpa Chatterton took some photos that we are hoping to get in an email soon so that we can post them on our blog...hint hint.

Sleepy Boy

These pictures are from the pool party at Stephen's brother's on Wednesday night. After everyone had finished swimming we had all gone inside and played some games. Emerson was having a great time interacting with everyone but eventually sleep overcame him. It was really pretty funny...one minute he was awake and the next he was completely out of it.

Pool Video

Pool Party

On Wednesday we went to Stephen's brother Mike's for a pool party. Emerson and Stephen went swimming. Emerson was a little unsure about being in the pool but I think he was mostly overwhelmed by all the people who were in the pool with him.

Spinning

While we were at Angie's Emerson found this fun toy for him and Stephen to play with. Watch him go round and round.

The Twins

On Wednesday we went to Stephen's sister Angie's house and met the newest additions to the family - Brielle and Ashlyn. They are almost a month old and so very very cute.

Dancing and Dishes

Emerson was helping Grandma Jean with the dishes and wanted to show of his dancing skills.

A Nine Hour Plane Ride

On Monday we got on a plane and made our way back to the states. We were a little worried how the trip there would go with Emerson but he did really well. The first flight was nine hours long and was probably the easiest part of the trip. The flight wasn't full so they gave us an extra seat plus we had extra leg room. The second flight was only four hours long but felt longer then the first. We were a bit more cramped for space on the second flight and Emerson was really tired. But 16 hours later we arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah and Stephen's mom and little sister Anna were there waiting for us at the airport.

Attack of the Emerson

Emerson and Kristine were outside playing and when Kristine started trying to take a couple pictures of Emerson he came chasing after her.

ALS Graduation

Stephen has been at ALS (Airman Leadership School) for the past 5 1/2 weeks. The class has been at Lakenheath so he has been close enough to come home for the weekends but during the week he had to stay up there. After a month and a half of learning how to be an effective leader and mentor as well as studying, taking tests and giving his fair share of briefs all his hard work paid off this past Wednesday night as we participated in his graduation ceremony. It was a nice evening and we enjoyed the company of Stephen's other two guests, Master Chief Frakes and Chief Harahill. They fed us a nice dinner and then had the graduation ceremony and handed out various awards. It was a nice evening and though this school was a good experience for all of us we are definetly glad Stephen is back at home with us.

Attack Number Three

This week Emerson struck again only this time it was in the closet that holds all of our socks. I think we are going to half to do a better job of closing doors and cupboards behind us from now on.

Mmmm....Chunky

It was a little over a week ago that Emerson ate his first really chunky meal (lasagna). He didn't do to bad. He only threw up twice (hence the naked baby wearing a bib) and by the end of the meal a little over half of it had been consumed.

Crawling

This is one of the first clips we got of Emerson when he started crawling on all fours. We'll have to get a clip of him now that he's a lot faster and more stable.

One Cool Dude

Emerson was pretty interested in Stephen's sun glasses so we let him put them on and to our surprise Emerson didn't try to take them off. Now when he sees them on the counter he points at them and smiles and laughs when we put them on him.

Shaving?

Emerson was watching Stephen a couple weekends ago while he was shaving. He took quite an interest in figuring out how to use Stephen's razor.

Memorial Day

Stephen had Monday off because it was Memorial Day so thought we'd go out in search for Stephen's ancestors. There were a couple small towns a little over an hour away where some of his ancestors where said to have lived and we wanted to try and find there grave sites. We went to a couple of cemeteries and small churches and found one person by the name of Chatterton who passed away in their first year of life. A lot of the grave stones had been so weathered that you couldn't read them so we don't really know if there were more people buried at the places we went. Though we didn't have a lot of success, it was a beautiful day and I think the perfect way to spend our memorial day. Hopefully we will have more opportunities while we are here in England to go to different places where our ancestors live and learn more about them and the lives they lived.

Chillin During Lunch Time

Emerson has been enjoying his progression in the solid food eating process. I think one of the things that he really enjoys is getting fed and waited on hand and foot. Sometimes when he is getting fed he props his feet up and leans back in his chair waving his spoon around in the air telling his servants what to do. He is so cute and has such a fun growing personality.

Nap Time

Last weekend Emerson and Stephen enjoyed a little cuddle as the slept in. Emerson loves spending time with daddy and has been extra cuddley since Stephen has been away during the weeks.

Attempt Number One

Thursday was my first attempt at making a flower arrangement since going to that flower arranging class at the church a couple of weeks ago. I got the flowers from tesco for 2 pound 50 and found all the greenery around the neighborhood.
