Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Our last night in Scotland, we drove to Edinburgh to watch the military tattoo in the Edinburgh Castle. The weather was not that good throughout the day, but it seemed to stop in time for the show.

The military tattoo is a big concert that is held in the Edinburgh Castle. There are military bands from all over the world that come to play in this concert that is held every year in the castle. There was not a bad seat in the whole place and we enjoyed a great evening listening to the bands play.

We had a great evening and everyone enjoyed listening to the brass bands and bagpipes. We also enjoyed fireworks and fun light displays. It was a wonderful evening that we are glad we were able to be a part of.

Scotland

The week before Isaac left to go back to the states we took a trip up to Scotland. We stayed on the coast in a little vacation town call Southerness near Dumbfries. On our second day in Southerness we went down to the beach and spent the afternoon playing in the water.

While down at the beach we found a crab. Emerson was brave enough to hold the little crab. He thought that it was so cool.

Stephen and Isaac came down to the beach with Canyon after he woke up from his nap. We then all set out down the shore towards the Irish Sea. The tide was really low so we had to walk through a lot of mud to get to the ocean, but finally we reached the Irish Sea.

While out by the water Stephen and Isaac had a lot of fun getting themselves stuck in the mud. (Notice how Isaac is much taller than Stephen.)

The jelly fish Stephen and Isaac saw on their way back to the beach. It started getting a little cold out by the water, so the boys and I headed back to the beach while Stephen and Isaac played around a little more. While at the beach we took pictures of our shadows and basked our mud soaked legs in the sun.

Hamerton Zoo

One of the last weeks that Isaac was visiting we went to a little zoo not far away from our house. It was a nice day and the boys had a lot of fun looking at all the animals there. We saw a lot of birds and monkeys. They also had a couple more exotic animals like cheetahs and tigers.

Emerson fed some pygmy goats and we had fun watching the youngest one escape from his fenced field/lawn.

They also have a little adventure playground at the zoo. The boys really liked going on the swing with Isaac. It was a great day to be outside with the animals.
