Hello Sister

With the late night arrival of the little girl we spent a lot of the early morning hours awake as the doctors did their checks and cleaned the little girl from head to toe.

After a couple hours of sleep, Stephen went and got Nana and the boys to come and meet their sister/granddaughter.  Nana had the first cuddle while the boys sat on the bed and watched.  Canyon also entertained himself with some of sisters hats.

Emerson was very excited to meet his little sister and couldn't wait to hold her.  Eventually Canyon wanted a turn at holding his little sister as well.

After a short visit the boys went and played at the playground with Nana for a little while.  Then for dinner everyone came back to the hospital and we had some pizza and watched a movie.  It was lots of fun to be able to hang out together as a family.  After the boys and Nana went back to the hotel to go to sleep, Stephen and I enjoyed a couple more cuddles before trying to get some sleep.

We are very grateful that everything went well and that we were able to have my mom here so that we could have the boys close by so that they could be a part of this very special time.

Storknesting Day 8

We started our eighth day of storknesting with a doctor's appointment.  We then went back to the room and got the boys and their cars and played outside on the playground until lunch.

After lunch we did some errands and hung out at the room reading stories and playing games.  At dinner time we went to the bowling alley and played a couple games while we ate some bowling alley food.  The boys had a lot of fun bowling and watching everyone else bowl.  Canyon thought that it was especially fun because it was the first time that he actually got to bowl.

After the first game I started feeling a little worn out and decided to sit out on the second game.  I soon realized that I was feeling worn out because I was in LABOR!  We hung around for the second game and then after we got back to the hotel I asked Emerson to share my little secret with everyone else - "Sister is on her way!"  I went ahead and put Canyon to bed so that I could make sure that I was in "true" labor and then after the boys were both asleep we started timing my contractions.  After a little less then an hour we realized that I was probably close enough to head into the hospital.

When we got there (which took about five minutes to walk to) they put us in an examination room to see if I was far enough along to be admitted.  When they checked I was already dilated to a 7.  They then put us in a room and strapped me up to the monitors.  Not long after they had finished getting all their charts ready my contractions started feeling quite painful.  When they checked me for the second time I was fully dilated.  The doctor came in and broke my water and about 15 minutes later our little girl was born.

She actually didn't come out that little weighing 9 lbs 15 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.

Everything went very well and we are all so excited to be able to hold and give lots of cuddles to our newest addition.

Storknesting Day 6 and 7

On day six of storknesting the boys got ready for the day and then worked on a sign for Nana.  After they colored in all the letters we were off to pick up Nana from the airport.

We got to the airport just in time to get our sign ready to welcome Nana to England.

Before heading back to the hotel we decided to take Nana to the bazaar.  This time we had sunshine long enough to ride on some rides.  The boys went on the tea cups with Nana.  This was Canyon's first real ride and he had a lot of fun spinning around and around.

Then Emerson got to try and knock down some candy with a cork gun.

The boys also went for a ride on the train.

After the bazaar we went back to the hotel. Then the boys kept Nana busy reading books until bedtime.

On day seven of storknesting we spent the morning at church and then came home and spent the rest of the day talking to family on the phone and playing games.  Tomorrow we go for our forty week check up and see how things are moving along with the pregnancy.

Storknesting Day 5

On day five of storknesting we finally got some sunshine.  After getting ready for the day we walked over to the store and did a few errands.  Then we came back to the hotel and played on the playground until lunch time.

After lunch we went to a bazaar/carnival nearby.  We had a couple minutes of sunshine at the bazaar before it started to rain.  Luckily the stalls where all the crafts were were in big hangers that provided shelter from the rain.  After walking around and looking at the different things people were selling we decided to go back to the hotel.  On our way out of one of the hangers we found a stall where they were making kettle corn.  We bought a couple bags and then made our way to the car and back to the hotel.

That evening we enjoyed some pizza and kettle corn while we watched a movie.  We had a nice day and enjoyed some time outside in the sunshine.  Hopefully we will have some nice weather tomorrow as well.

Storknesting Day 4

We woke up to cloudy skies and rain on day four.  With the yucky weather we weren't in a rush to go anywhere so we spent the morning lounging around and playing games.  During bath time Emerson decided that there was too much water in the bath and tried emptying it through the drain.

After bath time we kept ourselves entertained playing with the basketballs and crawling on the pillow paths that we made on the living room floor.

After lunch we went to the library and spent some time reading stories.  After reading a couple books we picked out a nice big selection to bring back to the hotel with us.

We spent the rest of the day in the hotel reading stories and watching basketball games.  Hopefully tomorrow we'll have sunshine.

Storknesting Day 3

On our third day of storknesting we woke up to rainy weather.  Despite the gloomy weather we tried to keep ourselves busy.  The boys spent the morning playing some basket ball and running around and having fun.

(Canyon giving me a cheesier)

After we were all ready for the day we went to the store and looked for some party favors for the boys birthdays.  We didn't find much, but did however come home with a hippo that blows bubbles.  After having some lunch Canyon enjoyed playing with the hippo and popping a lot of bubbles.  They made a bubble tower and Canyon's hands got so soapy that eventually they made a swarm of bubbles on Canyon's hand.

Emerson felt a little sick and chose to watch instead of chasing after the bubbles.  After a little nap and some medicine Emerson was feeling a lot better.  Hopefully tomorrow he will be ready for some fun with the bubbles.

The rain kept us inside for the rest of the day, but the boys kept busy enough playing basketball and watching sports with Stephen.  Maybe tomorrow we'll have sunshine.

Storknesting Day One and Two

On our first day of storknesting we arrived at the base in the evening.  After unloading we ordered some dinner and watched a movie.  The boys were very excited about staying at the hotel and had fun staying up late to watch a movie.

On day two of storknesting we enjoyed a relaxing morning.  We slept in a little and then after some cuddles on the couch we did some exercising and had some breakfast.  (Below is a picture of the boys cuddling on the couch while watching a leap frog movie.)

Before going to my 39 week appointment we got some groceries and had lunch.  Everything checked out good at the appointment and from there we made a couple stops on our way back to the hotel.  Before going inside and making some dinner we played on the playground.  The boys had a lot of fun going down the slides and running around.

A picture of the bump!

We had a good day and are hoping to get some nice weather so that we can do a little more exploring tomorrow.
