Suspenders, Monkey and Uncle TJ

On the same day that we had to say good-bye to Joseph we picked up my brother TJ from the airport. Emerson had only met his Uncle TJ one other time (besides through the web cam) but it did not take long before they were making faces, playing games and having a great time together. These pictures below were from TJ's first day here helping Emerson with his new suspenders (from nana). Emerson also got a monkey from Uncle TJ which he has named George. I really like this last picture of Emerson.

Photo Shoot

On Joseph's last day here we did a little photo shoot. I had a lot of fun, I always enjoy an opportunity to take photos. Here are just a few of the ones that I really like.

Picnic at Grafham Water

A couple weeks ago we went to Grafham water with a friend and her two little boys. It was a nice sunny day, which we spent enjoying some time outdoors. We ate a picnic lunch, played on the playground and went for a little walk. I love the face on Andrew.

The boys were very sweet and kept picking us flowers as we walked around the lake.

A thirsty little boy. It was nice to get out and socialize and they boys got along well and enjoyed themselves.

Cambridge

One of our outings while Joseph was here was a trip to Cambridge. Before going into the actual city we stopped off at the American War Cemetery. I think these are always really humbling experiences seeing all the people who gave up their lives for the cause of freedom. At this particular cemetary they have a wall with all the names of those who are MIA. There are probably 100's of thousands of names on there.

In the busiest part of Camridge you have the famous colleges and universities, the museums, the markets, the mall and other shops and a lot of musicians and magicians who will do anything in hopes of a couple extra bucks. The picture below fits into the last category. Yes he is really inside the trash can. On this particular outing we also ran into a magician who swallowed a balloon that was approximately 1 1/2" in diameter by 4 feet in length.

Just a Few Pics

I thought I was going to be taking some pictures of my friends daughters a couple weeks ago so I was testing out some different lighting and backdrops and took a couple pictures of the boys. Here is Canyon at almost 3 months old.

Here is Emerson with his silly little kool-aid stain on his face. His shirt makes me think of Easter time. It's really hard to get good pictures of him smiling these days.

Kirby Hall

One of Joseph's last days out here we set out to go to this old stately home. We didn't have our navigation system and got a little lost along the way. While we were trying to find Kirby Hall we ran into a monument to commemorate some Americans who aided in an important mission during a war, a different stately home called the Boughton House, and a monument for an old church.

We finally made it to Kirby Hall. It was a neat place part of which was reuins. Then a portion of the building still had a roof on it and was being restored to its original state. There was also a nice garden that was very well kept and manicured.

Emerson was asleep for most of the outing, but woke up in time for a picture or two and some ice cream. It was a fun day out. Joseph and I really enjoyed the portion that was old and falling apart. It had a lot of character and allowed your imagination to dream up what it might have looked like in its glory days.

Say Cheese

While we were in Disneyland Emerson learned how to use the camera. He went around the cabin one of the nights telling everyone to "say cheese". He was very proud of himself.
