Olympics

This summer the Olympics were in London and we were fortunate enough to get tickets to a couple of the different events.  Elijah, Eleanor and I went with some friends to a preliminary soccer match.

Stephen and Elijah went to watch a bunch of ping pong one Saturday afternoon.  They said that it was crazy watching how quickly the players returned the balls.

The pictures below are from the soccer stadium, where the boys and Stephen and Elijah watched the US women's take on Japan for the gold medal.

Emerson's Surgery

At the end of July, Emerson had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears.  He was a very brave boy.  Everything went very well and Emerson's recovery was quick.  I didn't take any pictures right before or after his surgery.  I think...okay I know...I was a little nervous about his surgery and taking pictures was one of the last things on my mind.  I did however take these pictures a couple days later.  Emerson wasn't supposed to go anywhere for a while after his surgery (they didn't want him to get sick) so we spent a lot of carefree days in the backyard drawing with side walk chalk and eating popsicles.  I love this sweet, smart, funny, brave little boy so much.  He adds so much joy and laughter into our home.

Warwick Castle

While Elijah was out here for the summer we went and spent the day at Warwick Castle.  We have been a couple times and it is always a fun day out.

The boys enjoyed watching the sword fighting and the birds of prey.  Canyon missed half of the bird show, because he was too busy watching the owl that was sitting in the tree behind us.

The jousting was also fun to watch.

Our first attempt at a family photo.  (We'll keep trying.)

All in all it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it with a little midevil entertainment.
