During one of the really nice days in July the boys, Isaac and I went to the Burghley House while Stephen was at work. The Burghley House is a big stately home that is still being used as a residence. Some days it is open to the public (it was closed the day we went however). The exterior of the house is quite extensive and looks more like a castle than a house. When we got there we had a picnic lunch on the grounds and also went to see the deer that they have there.
Then we went up to the house and looked around a little. We didn't spend much time around the house - just enough to take a couple pictures.
We spent the majority of our time at the Gardens of Surprise. It is a fun little garden area that has a lot of water areas to play in. The boys and Isaac got changed into their swim clothes and had a blast. We had a lot of fun and it was a perfect day to get a little (or a lot) wet.
Before leaving we walked through the mirror maize. Isaac and Emerson got a little lost, but eventually they made it out. As you're getting ready to leave the water garden there is one last water feature that gets you just a little bit wet.
