For our last Olympic event this summer we went to watch the US men's play in their semi-finals game. Since Stephen, Elijah and the boys were already in London (they had gone to the US women's soccer match the night before) Eleanor and I drove up in the morning to meet up with them. Once we all met up we took the train into London.
On our way to the London aquarium we found this hug shot put. (It was apparently a gift from the "Olympic Gods")
I couldn't get any good pictures at the aquarium (you weren't allowed to use your flash) but the boys had a great time. Emerson and Canyon touched a starfish. (So did Elijah after some coaxing.) And they loved sitting a watching the sharks swim around.
The boys got some fun shark chomper toys from the aquarium and played with them at a nearby park.
Then we went on the London Eye. It was the first time Canyon, Eleanor and I had been on (I think Canyon slept through most of it though).
We then went back to the park and chased some pigeons.
We went early to where the basketball game was being played and had some dinner with friends who were at the game before ours. The basketball arena was inside this huge "mall". There were shops, places to eat, and a movie theatre.
The game was a lot of fun. The boys got really into it and Eleanor was very entertained by all the movement that was going on around her.
After watching the US win their game we headed back to the hotel. We did sneak in a quick treat while waiting for our train. McDonald's ice cream cones....YUM!
It was a very full day of fun. The Olympics have been a very fun experience that we have been fortunate enough to take part in. Very grateful for these big moment, and little ones too, that we get to share together as a family.
